About My Work

I create mixed-media wall art interpreting traditional textiles and quilt patterns in modern colors and compositions. My work is an exploration of duality and the result is geometric structure with warmth, freedom, and fun.

The background of each “quilted” painting is a collage of vintage and found materials, which peek through the final composition like a hidden picture game. My style combines gritty, imperfect brushstrokes in structured geometric patterns and I find this juxtaposition delightful! My process results in layered, textural paintings that are approachable and energetic.

I whole-heartedly believe in the sophistication of cheerful, accessible art. I’ll choose “dopamine aesthetic” over moody and serious any day!

What Inspires Me

I recently learned the word “zakka” which Japanese for “miscellaneous goods” but really it’s about ordinary objects which bring joy because they have been elevated or carefully selected to improve one’s lifestyle. This is definitely where my inspiration lives. Moreso than a grand view or a certain type of experience, what truly delights me are the details and the surprises in ordinary things. I’d say the overarching themes of my inspiration are COLOR and PATTERN.

I keep a collection of images that tickle my eyeballs in Pinterest. Follow me there to keep up with my work and my latest inspiration!

About Me

I painted as a hobby/side-hustle for over 20 years alongside a career in leadership consulting and executive coaching. I have a Ph.D. in Psychology, and constantly apply my interest in the human experience to my artwork.

Since transforming my professional focus to art, I now sell my work independently, through shows, and at local fine art festivals.

I live on a sweet little farm in Milton, Georgia (a semi-rural suburb of Atlanta) with my incredible husband, our four lively young children, and our two beloved dogs. I’ve just renovated a dedicated studio space where I can work freely and even host workshops and events on the farm. When I'm not painting or momming, I love cooking, baking, and decorating our home. I'm addicted to houseplants, podcasts, and ice cream.
