“Hydrangea” was inspired by her sister, “Magnolia.” This piece is characterized by a perfectly-imperfect background made up of collage and painted squares in neutral tones with a slight blue hue. Over top, I’ve painted a pair of oversized, abstract hydrangea blooms. “Hydrangea” is peaceful and gentle, and its layers invite you in for a closer look.

24x24 acrylic, paper/fabric collage, pastels, and pencil on gallery-wrapped canvas, sealed with satin varnish.
