Elephant Shoes

My older kids are at an age where they’re picking up on humor and bringing home silly playground rhymes and jokes that they find hilarious. I am tickled to find out that the punchlines they deliver now are pretty much the same as the ones we used when we were kids. For example, I am pleased to know that it is still hilarious to mouth the words “elephant shoes” with a sweet smile from across the room and then, once the recipient feels warm-and-fuzzy, reveal the gotcha. “Elephant Shoes” features blue and white tones and my grid theme on an exaggerated scale, with a playful, rainbow-colored under-layers peeking through.

30x30” acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas, sealed with satin varnish. Sides are white and hanging hardware is installed on the back.
